TIAA’s Charlotte campus reimagines nearly one million square feet across six buildings as a model for enterprise-wide workplace transformation. Designed as part of the company’s modernization initiative, the campus gives TIAA a more flexible, connected, and resilient workplace, one that supports changing workforce needs while creating a framework that can inform future projects across its portfolio.

A Workplace Strategy Built Around Performance
IA and TIAA developed Work for My Day to align the workplace with how different roles and teams perform best. Individual and collaborative settings, quiet and active zones, and integrated technology give associates greater choice while supporting focus, teamwork, and well-being. The strategy also reduces barriers between business units and hierarchy, creating more opportunities for interaction and strengthening the sense of a shared organization.

A Campus Designed as a Long-Term Asset
Across the six-building campus, architecture, workplace strategy, lighting, experiential design, and brand work together to create a consistent experience. Shared destinations such as the reimagined Atrium, Carnegie Food Hall, courtyard, wellness center, and fitness spaces support connection and make the campus more useful throughout the day. Intuitive wayfinding and regionally inspired graphics create clarity across a complex footprint. Together, these interventions give TIAA an adaptable workplace platform designed to support culture, talent, and operational change over time.
