At Syngenta’s Greensboro campus, the distance between laboratory, office, and community has been deliberately shortened. A new three-story workplace and amenities center, together with renovated R&D areas, gives the people advancing crop protection more light, more connection, and more reasons to cross paths.

Employee Insight Shapes the Campus
More than twenty departmental interviews revealed a clear ambition: employees wanted a campus that supported the whole person, not only the work happening at the bench. Natural light, flexible settings, stronger indoor-outdoor connections, and more opportunities to come together became central to the design.

The transformation breaks down the physical and organizational boundaries that once separated research from the broader campus experience. Open entries draw daylight deeper into R&D areas and clarify connections between laboratories and offices. Modern work settings sit alongside dynamic collaboration zones, bringing focused technical work and shared problem-solving closer together without compromising operational rigor.

Amenities Build a Stronger Ecosystem
Beyond the lab and office, a network of destinations gives people more reasons to move through and engage with the campus. A coffee bar, dining hall, café, fitness center, and onsite wellness clinic support daily well-being and informal connection. A new auditorium creates a central gathering place for company-wide events, while a walk-in IT center makes everyday support visible and accessible.

The customer experience center extends that sense of connection beyond employees, using interactive tours, educational programs, and collaborative sessions to bring visitors closer to Syngenta’s work.
Together, these interventions do more than add convenience. They connect scientists, office teams, customers, and leaders who might otherwise remain separated by function. The result is a more integrated campus that supports Syngenta’s continued growth.
