Symrise Fine Fragrance’s New York workplace brings the science and artistry of perfumery together. Expanded laboratories occupy one floor, while a residential-style client apartment above offers a library, living room, and dining room. A feature stair connects the two, keeping the craft of making scent close to the experience of sharing it.

Science and Hospitality Stay Connected
On the 15th floor, new work bays expand fragrance-making capacity while protecting the air quality and safety essential to perfumery. Open work areas and meeting settings bring laboratory and marketing teams into closer contact, making the path from formulation and testing to narrative and brand expression more visible. The connecting stair leads to the 16th-floor client hub and executive suite. Elevator doors open directly into a red-toned library, followed by a living room and dining room for intimate client meals, creating a welcome that feels more residential than corporate.

Client Experience Reveals the Craft
Private offices, waiting areas, reception, and adaptable meeting rooms balance discretion with flexibility. IA used questionnaires, conversations, and visioning with leadership and marketing teams to understand the company’s culture of creative entrepreneurship and its desire for stronger mentorship across disciplines. Plush carpeting, refined finishes, curated displays, and daylight create a polished client environment while keeping the fragrance-making process close at hand. A conversation can move from the dining table toward a deeper understanding of the expertise behind a fragrance. The workplace gives Symrise more room to create and a more compelling way to reveal creation. Laboratory rigor, storytelling, and hospitality reinforce one another—from first formulation to final impression.
