On the corner of State and Monroe, Capital One Café brings banking into the everyday rhythm of Chicago’s Loop. The 10,000-square-foot space combines a full-service coffee shop with places to work, meet, gather, and seek financial guidance—creating an environment that feels less like a traditional branch and more like an extension of the city around it.

Beyond the Transaction
Floor-to-ceiling windows keep the café visually connected to the street, while bi-fold doors along Monroe open the interior to daylight, fresh air, and the movement of the Loop. Inside, a marble and stone coffee bar anchors the ground floor, giving visitors an immediate place to land whether they are stopping for coffee or staying for the afternoon.

A monumental stair draws the eye upward. Backlit metal treads, integrated planting, and a stone bench reference the planters and greenery along State Street, bringing a familiar piece of the streetscape indoors. Overhead, custom fixtures inspired by Capital One’s swoop create a graphic field of light visible from both inside and out.

An Everyday Destination
Upstairs, the café shifts easily between individual work, conversation, and larger gatherings. Open work areas sit alongside huddle rooms and private meeting spaces, while movable seating near frameless corner windows can be rearranged as needs change.
